The Computational Propaganda

The only reason why people are getting tricked with ads is because of people putting lies and actual facts together. People are trying to gain money in a ruthful way, and to this day, people are gathering other people to help their lies. People are starting to developing more ways to seek more information by using either ads, bots, spear phishing, distracted by animation and etc. They all lead into traps and fake news, causing the world to gather lies about one another.

Computational Propaganda is the manipulation of human consciousness, rewiring the brain to make people act in such a manner that doesn’t exist. Computational Propaganda is using technology to teaches people’s beliefs about a particular subject into a misleading fact causing them to believe false information. In other words, this type of propaganda is more of a manipulation. This is more of happening to children because of them not knowing the real insight of the internet. The three major causes of them are Ads, Bots, and Spear Phishing. Ads are part of Computational Propaganda because its showing people animations, falsely used facts, and other false advertising click bates, to lure the viewers in to get a particular app or games, however, when you click on it, traps the view causing them to give up their personal information. Spear phishing is a phase where emails are used to claim a situation falsely.  For example, When checking your emails, you might see, “You Won 500$ Claim your prize!” or “You WON a Scholarship, Click this link to Claim.” This can immediately fool a lot of people, and once they click the link, the link can either spread a virus or either gather personal information that could harm them in the future. Lastly, bots are also another example because they can do the same thing as ads are doing but more directive towards them. They can either call, text, or a lot of times, sends an email that’s not legible. Throughout all of the majors, depending on the advertising, a lot of the advertisements are hard to doge because a lot of people are supporting the facts behind the scenes.

Going behind the scenes of why people are falling for such false ads is because of people being click-bated. Youtube is an example because it’s simple to catch people’s attention with just one thumbnail and one title. Another Example is a YouTuber name Josh Gillies, this person made a video about a recent death of Kobe Bryant of him being alive and faking his death at 3AM. This video was immediately posted after Kobe Bryant’s death. After a while, the YouTuber lost his whole channel in under 10 min. To this day, more people are catching onto the fake ads and the counterfeit animations and click bate’s; however, a lot of children are clicking the ads and falling into there traps.

At this point, the world doesn’t know the word “secret” anymore since everyone is eavesdropping over everything. For example, the Talking Tom/Angela game. The game was taken down due to the fact it got kids to tell them personal information.. I feel that Computational Propaganda leads to the result of campaigns of disbelief. Just a couple of facts to make the whole world twisted with lies.
